Carving Foam

carving+foam
carving foam/ mascot foam and where i can get it in montreal?

Ok i am trying to do a cosplay of Lugia and i need a good foam that can be carved and shaped that is not to hard to shape as well. I was thinking the foam they use for building and glueing layers together or like a coushin foam.
This is my first time working with this stuff, so which would be better for a coaplay ( costume) the soft foam like from coushions or the harder from used for building?

Also would have to be in the montreal area >.< or its of no use to me.

Which type of foam is better is dependent on the application – are you making armor or padding? Think about what will be more comfortable to wear – and what will look better with what you are trying to make.

It would really help if you cosplayers would include a picture / description of the character you are trying to create — not all of us are up on the various thousands of characters you could potentially be working with.

Having looked up Lugia and seen a line drawing – I think the soft foam would be much more effective for both the look and for your own comfort.

Have fun.
