Be Kind To Your Microwave Oven

Your microwave oven has been very good to you. It works tirelessly to bake potatoes and heat up otherwise tasteless food. It is time to appreciate all that is does for you. You can do that by not abusing its purpose. Here are some ways keep your appliance healthy and happy for years.

Microwave ovens are not supposed to have metal inside of them. Most people are aware of that. Yet, people continue to insert all type of metallic items inside their microwaves. Never leave spoons or forks in your oven. If you need to mix liquids, use a wooden utensil, and not a Kitchenaid hand mixer. Hand mixers are fine to use. However, they should be on the counter and never inside of the oven.

Aluminum foil counts as metal also. It is perfect for protecting things. It may even improve TV reception in some areas. It is not good for the health of your microwave oven.

Would you place your Poulan chainsaw inside your microwave appliance? Most likely, you would not. Yet, people will try to reach in there with electric knives. Always cut meat outside of the appliance. Under no circumstances, use your chainsaw in the kitchen. There are other appliances better suited for cutting tasks.

Microwaves are not designed to run with the doors off or modified. Do not use them if the door latch breaks. It may be all right if you do not wish to have any more children.

Do not insert living creatures in your oven, It will not dry them off. It will kill them.

Have you wondered how long it takes an egg to explode in a microwave? If so, research the question online. Also, look up how long it will take to clean up the mess. This is not the place for scientific experiments.

When it comes to cleaning your appliance, do not attempt short cuts. A soapy dishcloth will do most jobs. Do not run up to the oven with your Dyson upright vacuum cleaner attachment in hand. This may double your amount of appliances that need cleaning.

Your microwave oven is something to appreciate. It will bake a potato in a very short time. It can heat up most anything. Do not attempt to defeat its purpose. If you want a healthy and happy appliance, keep metals away from it. Keep it clean and care for it properly. You should have many happy years together. It will save you much time. You will have time to do other things. Make sure that you do not spend it, receiving emergency medical care.
