Chicago Cutlery Knife Set - How to use Yours Properly

 

Getting a Chicago Cutlery Knife set in your kitchen is a fantastic way of adding to the wonderful experience of cooking. But how do you know which knives to use for which kitchen task. In this article I have gone through each knife in the Chicago Cutlery Knife Set and outlined the use of each knife.

1. Pairing Knife -  paring knife is an essential knife used in many kitchens around the world. These smaller style knives are mainly used for doing intricate work on smaller vegetables and fruits etc..

2. The Chefs Knife - This knife is used for cutting carrots, dice onions, finely chop things like parsley etc

3. The Santoku Knife - you can use a Santoku knife to slice and dice vegetables like celery etc

4. The Slicing Knife - great for carving chickens and turkeys or slicing sashimi or roasts.

5. The Bread Knife - always with a serrated edge this knife is used to slice bread citrus fruit and tomatoes nice and thin.

6. The Utility Knife - You can use a utility knife to cut, peel, slice or carve almost everything.

7. Partoku Knife - This knife was created by Chicago - it is basically a combination of a paring knife and a Santoku - good for things like and garlic.

8. The Steak Knife - of course it is used to cut up steak

9. The Bird Beak Peeler - This little knife is good for peeling and cleaning any kind of rounded fruit or vegetable. Good for peeling potatoes pumpkin and other things like apples.

10. The Boning Knife- use one of these knives to carve meat especially something that needs to be trimmed near a bone.  Good for fish, ham etc.

Always take good care of your Chicago Cutlery Knife set by not cleaning them in the dishwasher. With good quality kitchen knives around your home - you will be able to enjoy your cooking so much more. Cooking at home is much healthier and a whole lot cheaper than going out. Enjoy Cooking!!
