A canopy bed has four posts fixed to the four corners and curtains of silk and satin are hung .These curtains give a special feeling of intimacy .These also have footboards and headboard with special wood carving on it.
To give an interesting feel the European style beds have metal rails
those are snake shaped. This style emerged from the Europeans long back when their house was just a big hall and these types of beds were needed to give privacy to the Lord and the lady of the house from the servants. These curtains also prevent insects and other dust particles.There is two types of Canopy beds they are
• Traditional European
• Traditional Chinese.
The customary modern beds are made from metal or wood with majestic work of art in it and has curtains all around. Traditional Chinese bed frames are not so vibrant and has two extra posts. These has Chinese cultural outlook and has dragons and lattice work on it. Americans prefer European beds. Today’s canopy beds are made from either metal or wood and does not have any carving or work to suit today’s modern bedrooms.
Oak pine and the combination of both are used to make modern wood canopy beds and metal beds come in all bright colors of black, white, pink and blue. The curtains in the canopy beds are made of light material and it is pleasure to look at it. Based upon your need and taste you can choose bed that is conventional or contemporary.
When designing children’s bedrooms, there are many choices available to parents. You must be flexible when making your decision regarding modern bedroom furniture for your kids’ bedroom. First consider the bed style and type for this will be the largest piece of furniture. Some parents will prefer to go in for a Captain’s bed while others may settle for a bunk bed. Even with a bunk bed, there are many options like the loft kind that will allow kids to have the sleeping area on top with the bottom used for a desk. If there are two kids, get a bunk bed that can later be separated into twin beds.
If your kids have lots of friends, chances are there will be frequent sleepovers. So, consider either a bunk bed with the option of a trundle bed underneath or a separate trundle bed that can fit under a Captain’s bed and offers more sleeping space. All children’s bedrooms need plenty of storage space. So, consider a Storage bed where the storage space is under the bed where kids can learn to organize their own toys, games, shoes, socks etc. Apart from this, kids will need some drawers that are deep and wide.
Drawers now labeled so that the kids can keep and maintain their own things and clothes. Dressers also are available in various sizes so that children can segregate and keep their clothes, the smaller ones like socks and underwear in the small drawers and night dress jeans tee’s in the bigger ones and the wool goes inside the storage space. Extra storage is much appreciated since kid always need a lot more space to keep and sore so many things as they grow up.
Kid’s modern bedroom furniture is not complete without a nightstand especially if the bed set does not come with attached nightstand to the headboard. A nightstand allows them to store books and read or study at night too. A modern bedroom is not complete without a tall dresser with a mirror, especially if it is a girl’s bedroom. This can be a place for girl’s to keep jewelry and cosmetics and for boys to display gadgets. Select the right pieces so that the children’s bedroom will be comfortable, spacious and hip.
